S.M.C. S.R.L. has invested in a major digital innovation project, supported by funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Regional Programme 2021–2027 (PR ERDF 2021–2027) of the Lombardy Region, within the framework of the European Union’s Cohesion Policy.

The project’s primary objective was to accelerate the company’s digital transformation through three key strategic pillars: process optimisation, technological innovation, and skills development. This objective was achieved through:

  • The automation and integration of the company’s ERP management system;
  • The introduction of 3D design and simulation technologies for SMC’s projects and products;
  • The training and reskilling of the company’s technical and administrative staff.

Thanks to the funding received, SMC has implemented advanced software solutions to digitalise its sales cycle, purchasing processes, production management, and warehouse operations. In addition, the adoption of 3D simulation software now enables the company to create virtual simulations of manufacturing processes, enhancing the customer experience and validating systems before physical implementation.

At the same time, the digital skills of both technical and administrative personnel have been significantly strengthened, ensuring that employees involved in the training programme can effectively and confidently leverage the new technologies introduced within the company.

The project has enabled SMC to improve the efficiency of its operational processes, strengthen its marketing capabilities, and enhance its overall competitiveness, supporting long-term customer loyalty. Co-financed by the European Union through the PR ERDF 2021–2027 Regional Programme of the Lombardy Region, under the “Cohesion Italy 2021–2027” initiative, the project represents a tangible step forward in SMC’s ongoing commitment to innovation, digital transformation, and customer-oriented growth.
